Episode 11: How Games Age
This week Sinan and Joe are joined by First Wall Rebate’s Shane Hinton, and also by Jennifer Allen of play.tm, XboxGameZone and The Portable Gamer, for an episode of reminiscing and contemplation on how classic video games have aged. Which games stand the test of time? How much does nostalgia affect our judgement? What games should be remade? What will the future of gaming history be? All this, and Sinan’s take on racing game literature, in Episode 11 of GameOn: Big Red Potion.

Episode 10: Everybody Hates WoW
Ding! This week’s Big Red Potion is all about World of Warcraft, and the how the gaming community and press relate to it. Joining Sinan and Joe in the pod is Dangerous Kid Jeffrey ‘Switch’ Sorensen and Cranky Gamers UK’s Dits. Rather than elaborating on the subject in these show notes, I’m just going to copy and paste Dits’s alphabetical list of MMO games that he’s played for your general amusement: 2Moons, Age of Conan, Anarchy Online, ArchLord, City of Villains, Darkfall, Dungeons & Dragons Online, EVE Online, EverQuest II, Final Fantasy XI, Flyff, Guild Wars, Lord of the Rings Online, Martial Heroes, Phantasy Star Universe/Online, Rappelz, RF Online, Runes of Magic, Silkroad Online, Star Wars Galaxies, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, Warhammer Online – and World of Warcraft of course.

Episode 9: The Epic Handheld One
Warning: This week’s Big Red Potion lives up to its name… well, the *big* bit at least. Taking their seats in the pod with Sinan and Joe are TGR Staff Writer Jeffrey Matulef and Ninja Fat Pigeons host Xantiriad. In what has to be the most epic BRP so far, the lads mull over handheld gaming in detail. The three (or should it be two?) handheld platforms are considered in the first half, before the discussion takes a more general look at what we associate with handheld gaming in the second half. All this and Joe reveals how he ruined the days of two innocent youngsters who were just looking to trade some Pokemon… the brute!

Co-op Mode: Resident Evil 5
Welcome to the first ever BRP Co-op Mode, an occasional leaner, meaner version of Big Red Potion. Instead of featuring guests, Co-op Mode is just Sinan Kubba and Joseph DeLia doing what they do best – waffling on about games. This week the waffle is on Resident Evil 5. Among other vital points, the guys lament the absence of the RE4 merchant and praise Jill Valentine’s new look. Next week: a return to the norm with those guest-type people you actually enjoy listening to. PS: More music from the great man known as Derek K Miller. Thanks Derek!
