Episode 35: The Rise & Fall of SEGA

The skies are bluer today than ever before as Big Red Potion presents its lovingly crafted tribute to the mysterious Japanese giant known as SEGA. From the early magic of “riiise from your grave” to the misunderstood, ahead-of-its-time beauty of the Dreamcast, Sinan, Joe, Leon Cox from GamerDork and Dits Symeou from The Gamer Scene talk about how SEGA reached its mid-90s high, and why it soon plummeted out of the console race thanks to a few ill-advised mistakes and unfortunate decisions. Finally, the boys discuss whether the old SEGA could ever survive in today’s Call of Duty-dominated marketplace, Sonic 4, and if the new SEGA is even SEGA at all.
