With the release of the latest GTA episode, Sinan & Joe have lassoed the Digital Cowboys, Alex Shaw and Tony Atkins, onto the show to discuss The Ballad of Gay Tony, the maturity of the Grand Theft Auto series, and how the media continues to point at Rockstar’s epic as the cause of all of humanity’s problems.

A truly in depth look into the GTA series. The four of you really know how to go to town on a topic, excellent listen that kept me awake into the early hours to hear it all. I’m now very tempted to pick up GTA IV which is pretty darn cheap now along with the double pack.. very tempting indeed.

Thanks Steven, very kind indeed, and glad you enjoyed it!
I know people get down on the idea of a must-have game, but I do think GTA IV is at least a must-try, whether you end up enjoying it or not. Must admit, after playing TBoGT and doing this episode, I’m pretty tempted to relive Niko Bellic’s story myself.

Thanks Steve. I think that I was the biggest critic of GTA IV in the pack, but even I will admit that it’s a must play. Just a suggestion: when that voice in your head says “I want to move on now” listen to it.
That being said, i’m looking forward to grabbing the episodes soon.

I have absolutely no interest in the GTA series but I enjoyed hearing you guys talking about it this episode. Despite my indifference I do realise they’re important, influential games (both to those inside and outside the community) so it was great to hear you talk about some of the issues that the games raise, shy away from or are continually plagued by.
It’s so interesting how quickly the GTA IV love died out and the backlash started. I’ve never known a game get so hyped, so critically applauded but then almost get totally ignored within such a short amount of time. It seems to so rarely come up in discussion on podcasts, unless they’re about controversy in gaming, which is so weird considering how many copies it sold.
A general comment on the podcast… it was a really natural sounding, relaxed discussion where everyone seemed to feel really at ease and totally equal in the conversation… well done for creating such a good vibe.

Thanks Strident, glad we can still keep you on board through topics you’re not keen on. It’s interesting, as much as I really enjoy GTA, I can see where Joe and Alex are coming from in a lot of respects,
As for the naturalness, I think that’s something Joe, Tony, Alex and myself noticed when we were on the DC show - sometimes you just click. I can’t wait to talk with the guys again, and I’m sure - whether we have to drag them on kicking and screaming - that you’ll hear them again on this show.
